Our first game was on a rainy day and featured a mix-up about which field we were playing on. We had no idea what our competition was like, so we came on strong. Pitchers Ted Kubalak and Joe Batcha combined for a one-hitter...Kenny Flermoen and Dan Hafner each had a triple...the game ball was awarded to Eric Foret for excellence in baserunning

Kollin Stevens pitched four shut-out innings and recorded 8 strike-outs...a great team comeback from a 6-2 deficit...Game ball awarded to Stevens

The first 13 batters all scored in a 17 run 1st inning...Joe Batcha was 3 for 3, two singles, a double, and two runs scored...Jon Aldrich was 3 for 3, 3 singles and one run scored...Chris Altenbrun was 2 for 2, a single and a Grand Slam homerun (1), two runs scored...Game ball awarded to Altenbrun

Pitchers Ted Kubalak and Kenny Flermoen combined for a five inning no-hitter...Kubalak was 2 for 2, a single, a triple, a walk, and three runs scored...Bobby Johnson was 2 for 2, 2 singles, one run scored...Travis Steppe was 1 for two, with a three RBI single...Game ball awarded to Steppe

Pitchers Ted Kubalak and Kollin Stevens combined for a six inning five-hitter ...and only one walk...It was a close, exciting game, folks...

6/21/99 WIZARDS 9, Athletics 8

Kollin Stevens pitched five innings, giving up three hits and two runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with one out, the WIZARDS donned the rally caps. Down by six runs, the team put together a seven run comeback for the win. An incredible game.....

Coach Ian put the brakes on the baserunners, and the Royals almost stole this one. Chris Altenbrun led off the third inning with a solo HR, estimated at 270 feet

Seventeen runs in the second inning...and the Astros pitchers gave up 30 walks...Ted Kubalak scored 4 runs, Kenny Flermoen, Jon Aldrich, and Kyle Anderson each scored 3 runs

There weren't many hits, but we were able to score 9 runs due to walks and fielding errors...the double-header was a fun evening of baseball

FINAL STANDINGS

The Mets pitchers issued 17 walks and the team had 6 fielding errors, which led to 11 WIZARDS runs

The Athletics were the #1 seed, so we were the visitors in this game. The WIZARDS were ready to play, and scored 10 runs in the first inning. They battled back to a 4 run deficit after three innings, 11-7. Neither team was able to score in the fourth. In the fifth inning, 5 WIZARDS scored, giving closer Kollin Stevens some breathing room. Stevens gave up only one earned run in four innings, and three runs due to fielding errors...the Athletics go to the loser's bracket, and the WIZARDS are in the CHAMPIONSHIP !!
